The Jayhawks Announce 'Mockingbird Time'

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 10, 2011

It's been over eight years since the Jayhawks released an album, and even longer since their original lineup appeared together on record. That's about to change, however, as the reunited band are gearing up to drop the album Mockingbird Time on September 20 via Rounder Records.

This will be the first Jayhawks album in more than a decade and half to feature both founding core members Mark Olson and Gary Louris. Olson previously left the band following 1995's Tomorrow the Green Grass. The two songwriters released the duo album Ready for the Flood in 2009.

You can listen to some clips of new music in the video player at the bottom of the page, courtesy of Rolling Stone. Of the songs, Olson recently told us, "I feel that it's top-notch and that people will enjoy it."

In the coming months, the Jayhawks will embark on a world tour, much of which will take place in Europe in July and August. Before that, they will play a number of North American shows, including folk festival appearances in Vancouver and Winnipeg. Scroll past the tracklist to see the schedule.
