Jawbreaker/Jets to Brazil Offshoot Thorns of Life Call It Quits; Blake Schwarzenbach Begins New Project with Former Against Me! Drummer

Thorns of Life, the new project from former Jawbreaker and Jets to Brazil head Blake Schwarzenbach, had us pretty pumped when we first heard it existed last year. The anticipation then kept brewing when we found out that the band were in the studio recording a full-length with J. Robbins. So it's sort of a bummer to now discover that the band have already broken up.

The trio, who were rounded out by Crimpshrine/ Pinhead Gunpowder member Aaron Cometbus and L Word actress Daniela Sea, have not given a reason for the split, but our buds at Punknews [via Bohemian] are reporting that the Thorns of Life record never got made. "There is no Thorns album... it never got recorded," Schwarzenbach wrote on his Facebook page.

Fortunately, Schwarzenbach has already begun work on a new project called forgetters (apparently, it's supposed to be lowercase like that). The band also feature ex-Against Me! drummer Kevin Mahon, who played on that band's earliest recordings.

Little else is known about forgetters, but the band did play their first show earlier this week in Brooklyn.
