Taking place at Toronto's Paradise Theatre

December is nearly upon us, and, in Toronto, its arrival promises the return of the annual Basement Revue. Today, the event's long-time host and curator, Jason Collett, has unveiled details of its latest edition.

The singer-songwriter and Broken Social Scene alumnus put down roots on Bloor Street West back in 2019, when he moved the Basement Revue from a various venue format — previous years were hosted at the Dakota Tavern, Opera House, Great Hall and Longboat Hall — to the Paradise Theatre.

This year, the Paradise will host the self-described half-music, half-variety literature show every Thursday from December 7–28. All performers are kept as a surprise until the show begins.

Past artists include Broken Social Scene, Feist, the Sadies, Gord Downie and Rufus Wainwright. Authors like Margaret Atwood and Miriam Toews have also joined the festivities in previous years.

Tickets for all shows are available now at Basement Revue's official website
