Jack White Produces New Single for His Duet Partner Lillie Mae Rische

BY Alex HudsonPublished Dec 3, 2014

This year, Jack White fans were introduced to singer-violinist Lillie Mae Rische when she duetted with White on the song "Temporary Ground" on Lazaretto. Now, the former Jypsi member is getting her own 7-inch on Third Man Records, with White serving as producer.

This two-song single is part of the label's Blue Series (hence the blue artwork, above). It includes two original songs: A-side "Nobody's" is described in an announcement as "a gentle yet stern anthem about the sweet and sour circumstances of being alone," while B-side "The Same Eyes" is said to be "a story of hearts on the road, having to reconcile distance and desire."

A short sample of the countrified A-side can be heard below.

Although White doesn't play any instruments on the single, it features some notable contributors: My Morning Jacket's Carl Broemel plays pedal steel, Raconteurs/Dead Weather member Jack Lawrence handles electric bass, Jack White band member Dominic Davis plays upright bass, and Whip Triplet holds down drums.

The vinyl officially drops on December 9, and it can be pre-ordered right here.

An announcement from Third Man describes this single as "closing out an exceptional year," so presumably this is the label's last release of 2014.
