Jack Rose Gets Six-and-a-Half-Hour Tribute Compilation with Six Organs of Admittance, Bardo Pond, Sunburned Hand of the Man

Fans of guitarist Jack Rose, who played for Richmond, VA group Pelt until he died of a heart attack last year at 38, know that the man was an accomplished solo performer. And now, a new compilation album available for download is solidifying that fact.

Honest Strings: A Tribute to the Life and Work of Jack Rose is now up for sale exclusively at Thrill Jockey's webstore. A press release says the compilation is "monstrous" and "insanely full of good material," and at, uh, six-and-a-half hours long, odds are good they're right with both claims. The compilation costs $15, with 100-percent of the proceeds going to Rose's estate.

You can head here for a complete tracklisting, but below is the long list of participating artists, including Six Organs of Admittance, Bardo Pond, Sunburned Hand of the Man and No Neck Blues Band.

Rose's last album was the posthumously released Luck in the Valley, which Thrill Jockey put out on February 23 of this year.
