It's been almost exactly a year since J. Cole released his album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Come 2016, the rapper will revisit that album's songs in a HBO concert special entitled J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming.
The 90-minute film will debut on January 9. It will feature performances of all 13 cuts from 2014 Forest Hills Drive with guest appearances from Drake and Jay Z. It was captured in Cole's hometown of Fayetteville, NC, by director Scott Lazer.
An announcement describes Homecoming like this: "Part concert film, part backstage pass, the special tells his compelling life story through Cole's own words and music, and through the observations of those who know him best."
