Incommunicado

Losing Daylight

BY Ty TrumbullPublished May 25, 2008

Incommunicado are one of those rare bands who can actually take their obvious influences and put them together into a sound that’s at the same time cohesive, thoughtful and original. They effortlessly combine the sounds of early Anti-Flag, Rise Against and Kid Dynamite while still managing to throw in some crazy breakdowns that will keep you guessing — check out the disjointed one in "Writing for Profits and Belt Buckles” for a prime example. Losing Daylight is both intense and creative; it’ll no doubt have kids pumping their fists but it’s sure to pique the interest of any musician in the crowd. It’s a shame that the bassist on this record left because he shines. Hopefully the new guy can live up to what he laid down. This is a seriously solid release.
