In anticipation of their upcoming tour with Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, dream pop duo In the Valley Below have shared a video for their romantic new single "Lie with Me" — out now via Arts & Crafts.
The tour kicks off in Orlando on April 22 and includes two Canadian dates: May 3 at History in Toronto and May 20 at the Malkin Bowl in Vancouver. Things will wrap up in Los Angeles on May 26.
There's no word yet on whether a new album is coming or if "Lie with Me" is a standalone release, but the description of the video — directed by Uto X (a.k.a. band co-founder Angela Gail Mattson) — offers this explanation of the track:
It's the story of the night we fell in love. Jeffrey [Jacob Mendel, In the Valley Below co-founder] and I were just friends and both in relationships when one night, fuelled by MDMA, our chemistry completely changed. We unexpectedly fell head over heels for each other. Soon after, we had a love child on the way and were planning our wedding. This song is about the guilt and excitement we felt. It's about falling in love when you're not supposed to.
