Swedish metal titans In Flames are returning with a new album. Titled I, The Mask, the record will arrive March 1 via Eleven Seven Music/Nuclear Blast.
I, The Mask marks In Flames' 13th long-player, and to show it off some, the band have shared the new tracks "I Am Above" and "(This Is Our) House," both of which you can check out below. The former comes complete with a proper music vid, while the latter has a lyric video.
The 12-track I, The Mask reunites the band with producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Motörhead), who also produced 2016's Battles. The new album was mixed by Chris Lord-Alge (Cheap Trick, Linkin Park) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Pantera, Eagles, Guns N' Roses).
In a statement, In Flames' Anders Fridén said the following:
This album is really a special one to us. Since our last record, Battles, we've established our own annual festival in Sweden and have been touring non-stop worldwide, creating an even stronger bond with our fans. You could say it was a big part of our inspiration for this album. It's been such a long journey that just keeps going and growing. We feel extremely thankful for that, and for the support that makes it possible. We dedicate our 13th album, I, The Mask to our fans who allow us to keep making music and playing it every night. IN JESTERHEADS WE TRUST.
In addition to the new album, In Flames are headlining a North American tour next year. The first part of the trek includes dates with All That Remains, while the latter half features openers Within Temptation and Smash Into Pieces. In addition to various U.S. stops, the tour will make its way to Canada for shows in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. A U.K. and European tour will then kick off later in April.
