MUTEK Montreal has joined forces with Seoul-based media art platform INSCAPE to present the multidisciplinary showcase series INSCAPE: NEW HOMEOSTASIS. Taking place right ahead of the 24th edition of this year's MUTEK festival (featuring Rich Aucoin, Sheenah Ko, Obuxum and more), INSCAPE: NEW HOMEOSTASIS will be hosted at Usine C on August 18 and 19 as an exploration of the cataclysmic future landscape of humanity.

The two-night premiere showcases eight performances commissioned around this theme: the discrepancy between what we are and what we made. Crafted by teams of Canadian, Korean and European artists, art, technology and science come together to find an aesthetic language in the face of contemporary hot topics like climate change, AI and virtual reality.

August 18 will feature performances from Olivia-Faye Lathuilliere, Sahar Homami, GRAYCODE, jiiiiin and Martin Messier, with Kohui, Ida Toninato & Pierre-Luc Lecours, susy.technology and YEONO to follow on August 19. In the wake of the event, a special talk at the MUTEK festival is scheduled for August 22, where selected artists and curator Jay Bang will participate in a panel moderated by MUTEK's general director, Alain Mongeau.

Tickets for NEW HOMEOSTASIS are on sale now. Stay tuned for more of what's to come from MUTEK and INSCAPE's already-fruitful partnership, with a touring showcase in Montreal, Seoul and more on the horizon.
