Iceage Sign with Mexican Summer, Share New Single "The Holding Hand"

Post-punk lifers Iceage have leaned into plenty of genre shifts and label moves, and their evolution has taken yet another form with news that they've signed to Mexican Summer.

The band's first outing for their new label (who must have some space on their roster after dropping someone last month) is a single called "The Holding Hand." It's a five-and-a-half-minute outing that sees the group continue to expand their sound, and it arrives via a new music video from director Anders Malmberg.

"The song lives in a slurred world, movements are elastically stretched out and strength is found in weakness while you find it hard to tell the difference between fume and matter," said Iceage singer Elias Bender Rønnenfelt in a statement. "Gently the swaying intensifies, feel it escalate. Reach out for the holding hand, it seems almost within scope now."
