Toronto/Montreal punks HOUNDS are starting off the new year with a bang, signing to Toronto's New Damage Records and announcing plans for their debut EP Wild Eyes.
The band consists of Canadian hardcore veterans like Mike Rokos (Dig it up!), Patrick Mathers (Hostage Life), Brad Bentley (Rad Affair) and Paul Ramirez (the Flatliners).
Label boss Rich Fernandes only has high hopes for the new unit. "HOUNDS is a group comprised of some of the best musicians and people I know," he said in a statement. "And I cannot wait for their debut EP Wild Eyes to be unleashed into the world for all to hear."
The upcoming EP was produced by another Canadian punk mainstay — Cancer Bats guitarist Scott 'Scoeb' Middleton. It'll feature six tracks and is slated to arrive this spring. To get you stoked for the forthcoming release, the group have premiered new tune "Thanks" right here on Exclaim.ca.
Proving they still know their way around some good old-fashioned noise, the band's new single "Thanks" delivers a barrage of growling vocals, harsh guitars, thumping bass and rock solid drums.
You can catch the new material live at the band's upcoming shows in Ottawa and Montreal, but for now, give "Thanks" a listen in the player below.
