As part of this weekend's Record Store Day, Mazzy Star singer Hope Sandoval dropped a 7-inch single teasing her forthcoming LP as Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions. If you didn't get a chance to scoop up the vinyl single, you can now enjoy both sides of the 7-inch online, as well as watch the project's new video.
The project teams Sandoval with My Bloody Valentine's Colm Ó Cíosóig and Jim Putnam of Radar Bros., and A-side "Isn't It True" finds the group flirting with jingle bell ringing and shuffled drums, folky strums, and Sandoval's patented, ultra-cool cooing. Below, watch the song play out in a video, which is a tribute to the late Richie Lee of Acetone and features" images of lost and found memories."
"She's in the Wall," meanwhile, strips things down a bit, with the song showcasing acoustic guitar, vocals and the occasional thump of a xylophone.
Both songs are expected to appear on a forthcoming album release, though the details have yet to be revealed in full.
