Hearing Trees

"The Last Puck" (video)

It's been a stinker of a year for NHL teams in Canada, but Winnipeg rockers Hearing Trees are showing their unwavering appreciation for their home team with a new track called "The Last Puck."

Showing gratitude for the Jets' return to Winnipeg, the melancholic folk-tinged song also addresses the heartache experienced by many in the years the city went without a franchise. It's been paired with a video that shows off some of the city's most iconic sites and sees a young fan yearning for hockey glory.

Lines like "When we meet in the street, you'll know why the heart of the city will never die," refer to gatherings at the intersection of Portage and Main where rallies were held to bring the team back, but also where the celebrations took place when that announcement that they were coming back was finally made in 2011.

Exclaim! has got the exclusive premiere of the new clip, and you can close out the dismal hockey season by giving it a watch in the player below right now.
