Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Odreii, Amaal, TOBi

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Oct 29, 2021

It's times like these when we must ask the age-old question: trick or treat?

The ideal answer is — and always has been — treat, and boy do we have a lot of ear candy for you on this week's round-up of the best new Canadian music.

In a nutshell: Odreii stays in her "Own Lane," Amaal is likewise a "Renegade," and TOBi asks "Shall I Continue?" (Another easy answer: yes.)

'Tis the season for spook, so we've got a special little slew of Halloween-inspired tracks together: Taylor Janzen delivers a haunting rendition of Halsey's "Graveyard," Pleasure Craft "Don't Need a Knife" to cut deep and Traitrs are facing double trouble with "Ghost and the Storm." Plus, Shannon Roszell celebrates "Day of the Dead" and Starpainters have found blood in the snow — which we're now remembering will be arriving shortly. Is there any scarier thought?

It was another big week for new album releases, with Charlotte Cornfield, Garbage, Wine Lips, Erockfor, Calling All Captains, Hunnah, Safia Nolin, Jasper Sloan Yip, Orson Wilds and more sharing complete collections of songs. You'll hear highlights from each included in the playlist!

Elsewhere, Mind Bath teams up with myst milano., Holy Fuck recruit Lucia Tacchetti and Rose Cousins sings a lullaby with Tim Baker.

Whether you were planning on spending your weekend listening to the "Monster Mash" on repeat or some seasonal ABBA, we're opening our door to bestow these delicious morsels into your pumpkin-shaped plastic bucket with The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
