Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Lex Leosis, Akintoye, Deanna Petcoff

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Dec 10, 2021

Well, well, well; fancy running into you here again. Are you ready for another week's worth of maple syrup-scented aural novelty from the artists of the ol' landmass we happen to share?

In a nutshell: Lex Leosis and Roshin are just going with it — but "Respectfully," thanks to Akintoye. Meanwhile, Deanna Petcoff doesn't wanna get over you (or the Horseshoe Tavern).

Elsewhere, Vancouver's Kylie V stays a month behind in "November," and Alice Glass confronts trauma on "Fair Game."

Even though we're very near the end of 2021, this week saw album releases from Beatrice Deer (SHIFTING), Teen Daze (Interior), Exclaim! New Faves alum Mauvey (The Florist) and Neil Young & Crazy Horse (Barn).

And collaborations continue to abound, including Skiifall linking up with the killer lineup of BADBADNOTGOOD, the Kount and YAMA//SATO, Mac DeMarco making a guest appearance on a new track by alt-pop artist Jean Dawson, and Connor Price and 4Korners running course to become the "Marathon" dream team.

Remember: 'tis the season for Santa to be seeing you when you're sleeping and knowing when you're awake. Make a last-ditch attempt to get on the nice list by digging into The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
