Hard Charger

Although their brand of straight-ahead D-beat thrash isn't usually regarded as being too gifted in the subtlety department, Hard Charger appear to have inadvertently nailed down a theme for this record. Not surprisingly, that theme involves driving fast and hard. Track after track attacks like a fresh burst of gunfire, with all the spit-in-your-face attitude one would expect from bastard sons of Motörhead. This Machine is Driving isn't for everyone, however ― the song-to-song variation is minimal, with the almighty aforementioned drum pattern being almost omnipresent. With some more development, this relatively young New Brunswick quartet could stand to showcase their already formidable aggression to a far greater degree. But for now, those who enjoy the stripped down, no B.S. delivery of bands like Inepsy will welcome such slabs as "This Pack Will Roam" and "Still Fucking Pissed" into the crust canon.
