Halifax's Gridlock Festival Books DIIV, Wintersleep, Beach Slang for Inaugural Edition

Canada's East Coast is looking to add to its rich musical identity with the arrival of another summer music festival. Dubbed Gridlock Festival, the event's inaugural run will take place from July 8 to 10 in Halifax.
 
The festival's first ever lineup will feature locally sourced talent, as well as big names from abroad, with DIIV, American Football, TR/ST, Wintersleep, Baths, Lower Dens, Lowell and Beach Slang topping the bill. Also slated to perform are Peach Kelli Pop, Sean Nicholas Savage, Southern Shores, Partner, Vogue Dots, beauts and Dance Movie.
 
The outdoor tented festival will take place on the Spatz Theatre/Citadel High School grounds and, in addition to the music, will showcase local food, beverage and retail vendors.
 
Tickets for Gridlock go on sale this Friday (December 18) and will be available for an early bird price of $90. Regular advance passes will run you $100, or last-minute attendees can grab day-of tickets for $120.
