Gulfer Return with New Songs "Greetings" and "Barely"

A double-whammy from the Montreal quartet

BY Kaelen BellPublished Jul 15, 2022

Montreal's Gulfer have shared a new double single called "Greetings / Barely," the emo-influenced quartet's first pieces of new music since 2021's one-off single "Neighbours."

Both songs showcase the band's knotty, sweet-and-sour guitar work, with "Greetings" sung by singer-guitarist Vincent Ford and "Barely" by fellow singer-guitarist Joe Therriault.

The band's last full-length was 2020's Gulfer. The band is set to head out on their first US tour since 2018, supporting Pinegrove on a run of shows that kicks off at Montreal's Le Studio TD on July 21 and includes a show at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall the next day (July 22).

They'll also be playing POP Montreal's 2022 festival when it finally makes its grand return, running September 28 to October 2.

Check out the new songs below, plus a new double video.
