Back in the fall, pop-punk arena titans Green Day postponed a slew of North American dates after singer Billie Joe Armstrong entered rehab for substance abuse following an onstage meltdown. Now, some of those shows have been rescheduled for March and April.
The original tour was slated to include 21 North American concerts in January and February. The newly rescheduled jaunt pares that number down to just 11 shows, while the other 10 gigs have been cancelled outright. Luckily for Canadian fans, there are new dates for both Toronto and Quebec City.
Armstrong said in a statement, "Dear friends… I just want to thank you all for the love and support you've shown for the past few months. Believe me, it hasn't gone unnoticed and I'm eternally grateful to have such an amazing set of friends and family. I'm getting better everyday. So now, without further ado, the show must go on. We can't wait to get on the road and live out load! Our passion has only grown stronger."
Evidently the singer is feeling better, since the North American trip will be closely followed by an international tour that stretches into July. See the schedule below.
There's no word as to whether originally scheduled opener Best Coast will participate in any of these shows.
