Fans of reunited West Coast janglers Grapes of Wrath have been privy to news that the band have been prepping a brand new album, their first since 1991's These Days 2000's Field Trip, but have to wait until sometime early next year for that collection to drop. In the meantime, the Kelowna, BC-bred crew will rep some of their older material via the upcoming best-of set, Singles.
While the new studio album will be issued via Aporia Records, Singles arrives October 9 through the group's old home, EMI. The 17-song set jumps though the troupe's back catalogue, heading as far back as their 1985 debut September Bowl of Green to a couple present-day numbers.
While the focus will be on classic "Byrdsian" cuts like "Misunderstanding," "I Am Here," and the chart-friendly hit "All the Things I Wasn't," two new songs -- "Good to See You" and "Take on the Day" -- are poised to bring back the band's familiar sound.
As previously reported, Grapes of Wrath will also be playing some shows with 54-40 out on the West Coast, and you can check those dates, as well as a quick run of shows over in Ontario and Quebec, in the tour schedule down below.
