It's Derwin Dicker's first new release under the moniker in six years

Gold Panda is back! The electronic project of English producer Derwin Dicker has returned with plans for a new album titled The Work — out November 11 via City Slang. It'll be his first under the moniker since 2016's excellent Good Luck and Do Your Best and his latest after sharing Jag Trax as DJ Jenifa in 2019.

Recorded after becoming a parent and working through mental health issues with a therapist, the album is previewed today by new single "The Corner," which arrives alongside a music video shot by Lenny Rothenberg in Berlin with Noa Moffat.

Here's what he had to say about the track:

A number of years back a friend of mine gave me a record by Dean Friedman, I'd been watching The Wire and when I heard the line in [1978 track] "Lydia" I had to loop it up and mess with it. I tried to make it into a beat for some rappers but I could never get it right. When making this album I found the sample again, I had a new way of recording so starting from scratch it all came together. When I made Lucky Shiner people used to rap over those tracks and stick them on SoundCloud etc so I'm hoping this will inspire people to do it again.
