Vancouver rock'n'roll three-piece Gleneagle are gearing up to release their EP When You Weren't Around, and they're teasing the arrival with a new track called "Let You Down."

It marks the second single from the upcoming EP, following "2009," and it hears the band wearing some of their biggest influences on their sleeves.

"These songs are the true spirit of Gleneagle," frontman Jackson J. Gardner said in a statement. "They're the culmination of all the experimenting and refining we've done with our sound the past couple years. We're really proud of the originality, but I think people will hear our biggest influences — like Springsteen, Attack In Black —pretty clearly on songs like 'Let You Down.'"

A peppy backbeat and reverberating guitar lines support soft verses that eventually lead into the explosive, shout-along chorus.

When You Weren't Around is due out in February.
