The Get Up Kids

Just in time for Christmas comes this rarities/B-sides disc from one of the most popular but inconsistent emo bands around. Included here are songs recorded over the past five years, including renditions of classic songs by David Bowie ("Suffragette City"), the Pixies ("Alec Eiffel"), the Cure ("Close to Me"), the Replacements ("Beer for Breakfast"), Mötley Crüe ("On With the Show"), New Order ("Regret") and others that have obviously been influences on the Kids. But it says something that this collection of Something to Write Home About outtakes, early demos and covers is actually a better collection of songs than any of their albums. Curious.
