Get Ready for Summer with Shad, Janelle Monáe, Sleigh Bells, Danzig and More in Exclaim!'s June Issue

BY Tanisha WhitePublished Jun 2, 2010

It's finally June, and with the approach of summer comes a smokin' hot new issue of Exclaim! Keep your eyes open for the colourful new issue hitting the streets across Canada. But if you'd rather stay indoors, all of its contents can be found online over here.

On this month's cover is Shad. This London, ON-raised hip-hoper has just solidified his stay in the Canadian rap game with his second album, TSOL, and he's told us all about it.

In the Questionnaire section, we pick filmmarker, Harmony Korine's brain, and our Timeline examines the storied life and work of Glenn Danzig.

The Points section offers up a variety of articles, including features on Sleigh Bells, Male Bonding, Born Ruffians, Holy Fuck, Janelle Monáe and Wintersleep.

And since it's June, we have turned over to our Summer Music School, where we learn that "timing is everything." Also, check out where Mossa (aka Jeremy Petrus) lives and produces music in Where I Play.

Finally, in our Conversations section, we start out with unforgettable film duo Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn, who discuss their latest film about ultimate progressive power trio Rush. Rapper Brother Ali and Trentemøller also make an appearance.

Like always, the June issue is teeming with more reviews, interviews and articles that can be found at Exclaim.ca. For the full list of what's new and noteworthy, head to the June contents page.
