Brain Fallon

"A Wonderful Life"

BY Alex HudsonPublished Dec 10, 2015

The Gaslight Anthem's frontman Brian Fallon previously announced that he was working on a debut solo album, and with Painkillers due out on March 11 through Island Records, he has now rolled out a tune called "A Wonderful Life."

The song features a Springsteen-esque stomp, while the uplifting arrangement mixes rock grit with plinky instrumental hooks. The results sound a bit like Brandon Flowers with a mouthful of gravel.

Fallon told the Wall Street Journal, "'A Wonderful Life' was my expression of how I feel, and how some people I know feel. We want our lives to matter to those around us. We want our time here to have positive impact and not simply to pass by. Even if that costs us."
