Published Mar 09, 2015Scottish post-punk act Franz Ferdinand released their fourth album, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, in 2013. They are now gearing to follow it up and have shed more on their previously teased supergroup.
As previously reported, the quartet have added two very special members in Ron and Russell Mael, members of the cult-classic pop eccentrics Sparks. Together, the new group is called FFS.
The group's first big announcement is a European summer tour, the dates of which can be seen here.
They've also reportedly recorded a debut album with John Congleton (Modest Mouse, Marilyn Manson). While there's no proper info about that release just yet, they've shared a 30-second snippet of a new song called "The Domino Effect" that can be viewed below.
Franz frontman Alex Kapranos previously told Pop & Hiss, "We were both in San Francisco at the same time, and we started talking, you know, 'We should record a song together sometime.' A lot of times people say that, and nothing ever happens, but they followed up, and we started exchanging ideas, and pretty quickly we had six songs worked up and realized, 'This is going to be an album.'"
