Published Feb 12, 2015Florence and the Machine recently returned with a new track called "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful." Now, it has been confirmed that this song's title also serves as the name of the outfit's new album.
BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe revealed that How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful will be out on June 1 through Island Records. This is the UK release date; it will likely arrive the next day in North America.
Lowe also premiered the new single "What Kind of Man," which can be heard below. It begins with a solemn, atmospheric intro before abruptly turning into a stomping riff-rocker while frontwoman Florence Welch goes into full belter mode.
Update: "What Kind of Man" now has a music video. Watch that below.
Welch wrote on Instagram:
I'm so happy to announce my new record
'HOW BIG HOW BLUE HOW BEAUTIFUL.'
Written over two years between London and LA. Recorded with my good friend Marcus Dravs about a 15 min bike ride from my house.
It has been a true labour of love. ThankYou all for your patience, and thanks to everyone who inspired, consoled, contributed, and supported throughout.
Im so glad you get to hear it.
But sad to let it go.
Please take care of it,
as it took care of me.
