The Flaming Lips Delay 'The Terror,' Offer Pre-Order with Full-Album Remix by Dan Deacon

If you've been counting down the days until the Flaming Lips unleash The Terror, then we're sorry to report that you're going to have to wait a little longer than you thought, since the psychedelic pop experimenters just delayed their album by two weeks.

The Terror had been slated to drop on April 2 through Warner Bros./Bella Union, but The Future Heart notes that the release date has now been pushed back to April 16.

Although this delay is slightly frustrating, the album's pre-order package is looking very promising. The Terror will be available on double silver vinyl, with the fourth side consisting of a Dan Deacon remix of the entire album. The side-long rework is called "We Don't Control the Controls (Mashed-The-F-Up-Remix)," and we're guessing that Deacon must have significantly condensed the album in order for it to fit on one side of a record.

Order it now from the Flaming Lips' online store. The album is also available on CD for those who are so inclined, but this package doesn't include the Deacon remix.

If you don't want to wait until April 16 to hear the band's new songs, then you may be interested to know that the band performed the entire album live at SXSW. The 58-minute recording is streaming below [via Slow Nerve Action].
