This record almost seems to be two different bands. It starts off with a driving, Far Side type of emo song called "Winter Kiss" and then shifts gears into the new school hardcore thing for the next song, "Pendlum." Then back to the melodic stuff for a few more songs and so on. They make a noble attempt at mixing the two, concentrating more on the melodic side, but the heavier material makes this record lose focus at times. On "Prelude" and "Killing The Me In Me" they do both at the same time. And even though they're adept at both, you get the impression they're trying to win over both sides at once and not really succeeding.
