Ellis — the solo moniker of Hamilton, ON's Linnea Siggelkow — dropped her lovely EP nothing is sacred anymore back in 2021. She's been relatively quiet since then (though she did play guitar on Ethel Cain's cultishly loved Preacher's Daughter, and more recently contributed to the FADER & Friends Vol. 1 trans rights compilation by covering Foo Fighters' "Everlong"), but that changes today with "forever."

Ellis's first new song since 2021 is a gauzy, understated rocker about how "time is short and long and fast and slow, depending on where you're standing and who you're standing beside," Ellis said in a statement about the track.

"Lately it also feels like it's all of those things all at once," she continued. "It seems that when I'm not looking ahead with excitement, I'm sort of looking back with regret, and regret is such a sucky, all-consuming feeling."
