Long-running Hamilton roots-rock troupe Elliott Brood have revealed plans for their next record and shared a preview of the brand new music. The band will release Ghost Gardens on September 15 via Paper Bag Records.
The title refers to perennial gardens at abandoned homes or buildings that continue to return to full bloom years after their original caretakers have left. As such, the songs on Ghost Gardens find the band revisiting demos that were abandoned a decade and a half ago. Old demos and song sketches were recently rediscovered on a hard drive in a suitcase in a garage, and reworked through the group's current, wiser musical and lyrical lens.
The first sonic preview of the album arrives with lead single "'Til the Sun Comes Up Again," a twangy, start-and-stop stomp-along. Give the country-rock banjo jam a listen down at the bottom of the page.
Ghost Gardens stands as the band's sixth studio album and marks the full-length follow-up to 2014's Work and Love.
Ahead of the record's release, Elliott Brood have a hefty run of summer and fall tour dates. See all of their upcoming shows listed below.
