When hes not making his fantastic Tropicalia-inspired jams, El Guincho likes to take his show on the road. Thankfully, the Barcelona resident has announced a string of North American dates this fall. Kicking off in L.A. on November 20, the two-week tour will see him blessing Canada with dates in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal before winding down the tour in New York.
In a recent interview with Exclaim!, El Guincho revealed that he will be employing live instrumentation, admitting that hes bored of using just his sampler. "Im trying to remix songs [for the live show], he said. "They sound a bit cooler because I got a new synthesizer. Im not bringing a sampler live with me anymore because I got bored of it Im going to bring my synthesizer, and Im going to be using a mixer with a hard drive, so Ill have the rhythm tracks. Its like having a rhythm machine with you, but instead of just pressing play Ill have this hard-drive. Its kind of like an eight-track mixer. Im bringing my friend to play bass parts on a sampler pad. Thats what El Guincho will be now.
