Ed Sheeran, Alt-J, The xx Nominated for 2017 Mercury Prize
The Mercury Prize honours the finest in British music each year, and the nominees for the coveted 2017 award have just been revealed.

Twitter-hating Game of Thrones guest star Ed Sheeran got a nod for this year's ÷, while other notable names on the list of nominees include Alt-J, The xx, Sampha and Stormzy.

Kate Tempest, J Hus, Glass Animals, Blossoms, Dinosaur, Loyle Carner and the Big Moon round out the competition.

The xx previously won the award in 2010 for their self-titled debut, while Alt-J took home the prize in 2012 for An Awesome Wave.
