Eau de Anarchy: Sex Pistols Get Their Own Official Perfume

BY Stephen CarlickPublished Aug 9, 2010

You've bought the expensive boots, the pre-ripped T-shirts and all the Sex Pistols' music on vinyl, but you're stumped for how else you can appear to be an authentic anarchist. Problem solved: the Sex Pistols have just released their very own fragrance.

Thanks to perfume company Etat Libre D'Orange, you can now smell like an anarchist, wearing the official Sex Pistols perfume. The English punk band teamed up with cosmetic firm Fragrance and Beauty Limited to come up with the fragrance, which is packaged in a "God Save the Queen"-inspired box and, according to the perfume's label, is a "fresh, restless bite of lemon, sharpened and intensified by a defiant black pepper."

It adds, "Electrified by aldehydes, you can feel the pure energy, pared down and pumped up by leather, shot through with heliotrope and brought back down to earth by a raunchy patchouli."

But be warned: "To wear this scent, you must resist tradition, fight conformity, and disregard aromatic conventions. In the spirit of punk, you [must be] willing to express yourself with abandon. You take risks, and you wouldn't be adverse to creating a little mayhem."

The perfume hits international stores this September. No word yet on whether each bottle will come with an added vial of the tears of punks everywhere.
