A van accident has taken the life of another touring metal musician: Early Graves vocalist Makh Daniels, who died yesterday (August 1) in an early-morning accident caused by fatigue.

The hardcore/crust/metal band were out with blackened death crew the Funeral Pyre when their van crashed while the group were heading to Nevada from Oregon.

Ironclad Recordings, who recently released Early Graves' excellent second full-length, Goner, has issued the following statement:

"Last night Makh Daniels, vocalist of Early Graves, tragically lost his life in a van accident while the band was traveling from Oregon to Nevada. An official statement will be released in time, but for now our thoughts are with Makh's family, friends and bandmates during this terrible time."

TV station KTVL reports that Funeral Pyre guitarist Justin Garcia was driving the van and fell asleep at the wheel prior to the crash. None of the nine passengers in the vehicle was reportedly wearing seat belts.

Daniels, who was 28, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Garcia and Early Graves guitarist Tyler Jensen were taken to Rogue Valley Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

Early Graves had yet to make a huge impact on the metal scene, but were poised to with the release of Goner. We suggest cranking up the live clip of the band below in honour of Daniels.
