Following the release of their He Gets Me High EP and the revelation of their Les Demoniaques side-project, California indie poppers Dum Dum Girls have solidified the details for their second proper album.
The record is called Only In Dreams, which we sincerely hope is a reference to Weezer's Blue Album. The album was recorded with Richard Gottehrer and the Raveonettes Sune Rose Wagner at Pink Duck Studios, a recording facility owned by Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme.
As for the album's sound, frontwoman Dee Dee told the Los Angeles Times that "as much as I really love the songs, is definitely a dark record." She went on to explain that much of the release is coloured by the loss of her mother, who recently passed away from brain cancer.
Sub Pop will release Only In Dreams on September 27. After that, Dum Dum Girls will embark on a hefty world tour which includes Canadian stops in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. All dates are available below.
