Following the tragic death of DMX, a new posthumous album from the late rap legend has just been announced. The record is called Exodus and will arrive on May 28 via Def Jam Recordings.

The album includes all new original material and features executive producer and producer Swizz Beatz. Exodus will mark the first DMX album of all new material since 2012's Undisputed.

In a statement, the producer said the following:

My brother X was one of the most pure and rare souls I've ever met. He lived his life dedicated to his family and music. Most of all, he was generous with his giving and loved his fans beyond measure. This album, X couldn't wait for his fans all around the world to hear and show just how much he valued each and every single person that has supported him unconditionally.

The upcoming album shares its name with DMX's son, Exodus Simmons, and it also features the intimate cover art above, which was captured by photographer Jonathan Mannion. So far, the tracklist for Exodus has not been revealed.

DMX passed away on April 9 at the age of 50 after suffering a heart attack from an apparent drug overdose.
