The start of the summer season is upon Canadians as temperatures continue to rise, and Simon Chioini, known better as DJ Voilà, is set to celebrate with the arrival of a new album. Described as an "ode to a Montreal summer," his new effort Aimless Summer is set to arrive next month through 1080p.

Running 10 tracks in total, Aimless Summer is said to be "a crispy and bright release that drips tropes from classic ambient/'experimental' genres into more club-based snippets," including grime and house. An emphasis on the high end in the mix adds colour to feelings of "summer, aimlessness, leisures, different weathers, different moods, time progression, climate progression, love, the everyday."

As for a taste of what's to come, DJ Voilà has offered up a sample with "Some Jazz," which you can hear below. The album was mastered by Josh Stevenson at Otic Studios, while Bobby Houlihan created the record's minimalist artwork.

Aimless Summer arrives on June 17 through 1080p. Hear first single "Some Jazz" in the player below.
