Hamilton, ON's the Dirty Nil have been talking up their upcoming Smite EP for a while now, but the band have now confirmed that the quickie collection will officially be hitting our ears next month.
While initial reports suggested the EP would drop sometime in January, the group will now be issuing the set on February 18 on 10-inch vinyl, as well as on cassette and digitally. Included on the five-song collection is the previously teased "Nicotine," which acts as the opening track.
To help stir up some more hype, the Dirty Nil are streaming Smite's "Wrestle Yü to Hüsker Dü," a detuned and slow-mo alt-rock crawl full of raspy lines about an apparent love triangle ("I don't care about your boyfriend, he don't like me anyway") and an outdoor game of "doctor."
You'll find the EP's tracklisting down below and the cover art above.
Following Smite's release, the Dirty Nil will head below the U.S./Canada border to play a few gigs, but they'll be back in Canadian clubs shortly thereafter. More dates are expected to pop up in the near future, but you can see all of the current show info down below.
