Dimmu Borgir "Set the Sails" for Canada/U.S. Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 8, 2010

Sharpen your spiked wrist gauntlets and start stocking up on corpse paint everybody, Dimmu Borgir are coming back to North America this fall. With the release of new symphonic black metal masterpiece ABRAHADABRA just around the corner, the infamous Norwegian outfit realize it's high time to hit the Western Hemisphere.

A press release confirms that the trip, ominously titled the "Darkness Reborn Tour," will hit 32 cities continent-wide, including a number of Canadian stops. A veritable who's who of Norway's metal scene, the tour also features fist-pounders Enslaved, Blood Red Throne and Dawn of Ashes. While celebrating their homeland's current crop of demonic shred heads, the tour also pays tribute to famed explorer and original Norse travel-junkie Leifr Eriksson.

"Leifr Eiriksson was the first Norwegian," says Dimmu Borgir guitarist Silenoz in a statement, "Enslaved, Blood Red Throne and Dimmu Borgir will henceforth continue to honour the Nordic legacy on North American soil. Set the sails!"

ABRAHADABRA will be released October 12 via Nuclear Blast, which means you have at least a bit of time to prep for this monster of a tour. Judging by the clip for single "Gateways" (below), maybe we need to make a stop at the devil horn and fur coat emporium while we're at it.
