Department of Defense Reportedly Bans Music from Nickelback, Slipknot, Creed and Smash Mouth in Command Post

If you're in the Department of Defense, you've got a lot on your plate. The last thing you really need is someone questioning your musical taste, but a new memo suggests that the United States' DoD is doing just that.

Geoffrey Ingersoll, a journalist who has worked for the Marine Times and Business Insider, revealed an internal memo with some particularly whiny demands on Twitter. Titled "Banned Playing of Terrible 'Rock Groups,'" the paper sees an officer make some pretty severe demands.

Effective February 14 of this year (and thus ruining Valentine's Day), the people controlling the aux cord in the command post are no longer allowed to play the music of Korn, Nickelback, Slipknot, Smash Mouth and Creed.

While we can understand the hate for Creed, disliking Nickelback is so played out that it's gauche at this point. Further, Smash Mouth are having their own weird meme moment in the sun. Plus, decades into their careers, both Slipknot and Korn have their share of defenders.

The details are blurred out so we can't exactly verify the memo's realness, but you can check it out below. If you can't listen to Life Is Peachy while you're working, then war is hell indeed.
