Human insult generator Noel Gallagher performed at Scotland's T in the Park festival earlier this month, and in interviews leading up to the event, he had some less-than-kind things to say about some of the EDM performers on the bill. Now, deadmau5 and Avicii have both responded to the former Oasis bloke's criticisms.
Gallagher told Xfm that the future of festivals is "disturbing… if a dude in a hat and a pair of fake DJ decks pressing play on a CD player is what it's all about. That's quite a bleak future." During an interview with NME, he introduced himself by saying, "Hello, this is deadmau5 without the fucking stupid hat."
Gallagher additionally said in a separate NME interview, "I don't know anything about Avicii. I don't wish to know anything about Avicii. It sounds like an artist from the Renaissance period."
In response, deadmau5 issued an insult of his own during a video Q&A with asQme by saying, "I'm Noel Gallagher without the stupid accent."
As for Avicii, he posted a South Park video on Instagram this week with a lengthy comment criticizing Gallagher for his outdated rockist views and lack of an open mind regarding new music. He also called Gallagher a "silly sausage." Zing!
