David Bowie Film 'Absolute Beginners' Gets Expanded 30th Anniversary Release

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Julien Temple's musical Absolute Beginners, and as such the film is being fitted with a special expanded reissue.

The film stars David Bowie alongside Patsy Kensit and Eddie O'Connell. Set in 1958, it also featured appearances from the Kinks' Ray Davies and Sade.

While the reissue won't be the first time the film has appeared on Blu-ray, the release has been expanded with new material. The new release includes a brand new, hour-long documentary about the film's creation, including interviews with Julien Temple, the film's Edward Tudor-Pole (now a Game of Thrones actor), and producers Stephen Wooley and Nik Powel.

NME reports that the reissue touches down on July 25 in the UK. Here's hoping it gets a North American release as well.
