Danny Brown kicked off the weekend-long party at This Tent, storming on stage and setting the bar high for the hip-hop acts that followed. Decked out in a Hawaiian shirt and shades, the quirky Detroit rapper's kush-friendly rhymes played well to the crowd, who were bouncing along for the whole set. Running through some of the best cuts from last year's XXX, Brown also delivered recent single "Grown Up" early in the set, as well as dropped a freestyle mid-show. Unsurprisingly, "Blunt After Blunt" got most of the crowd puffing, passing and shouting along word for word, while "Bruiser Brigade" upped the energy in the tent even further. Brown proved a personable performer, constantly hyping the festival and, as he put it, skipping his usual cigarette break to keep playing. Brown capped off the explosive performance by jumping in to the crowd and tossing out T-shirts and bandanas with a couple of his crew members, before presumably heading off for that smoke.
