Dan Mangan Signs to Arts & Crafts for America Reissue of Nice, Nice, Very Nice

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 10, 2010

Dan Mangan's Nice, Nice, Very Nice came out in August of last year, turning the Vancouver-based songwriter into one of Canada's most beloved folkies. This summer, the husky-voiced singer will look to make his mark south of the border by re-releasing the album through Toronto's Arts & Crafts.

The album will drop on August 10 - 364 days since its original Canadian release (August 11, 2009). Later this month, Mangan will be heading down to California to get the promotional machine started early. In June, he will also be heading to the UK to appear at Glastonbury Festival.

Nice, Nice, Very Nice has already helped Mangan to earn the $25,000 award for XM Verge Artist of the Year, as well as the No. 5 spot on our top folk albums of 2009 list. The single "Robots" received two CBC Bucky Awards for Best Vocals and Best Song.

When his album is rereleased in the U.S., don't be surprised if Dan adds a few more awards to his resume.

This weekend Mangan played to sold-out crowd in Vancouver, and you can see our review of the show here.
