D-Fuse

Progressive Mix Session 1.0

BY Esther ChristiePublished Mar 1, 2001

Cowboy hat and all, Austin, TX, can lay claim to one of the fastest growing dance scenes, in part thanks to DJ D-Fuse. His blend of progressive house, techno and trance breaks quickly brought him to the attention of a local promoter and he started spinning all over Texas. Shortly after that, on the Austin stop of the 1998 Moonshine Over America tour, D-Fuse managed to get a mixed tape to Moonshine president Steve Levy. This eventually led to the re-launch of the Psychotrance series, with him mixing both Psychotrance 2000 and 2001. Over the past year, he has been very busy: touring with Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, and playing at countless events in North America and the UK. Inspired by his residency at San Fransisco’s legendary Release club, this set has an awesome build from the beginning of the set. It then culminates in an eerie, spine tingling transition into E Craig’s “Dutch Drum Attack,” before the chilling vocals of a remix of Dececio’s “Spectrum” twist down and up with his own “Bodyshock.” With this energy at his disposal, it is easy to see (hear) why Paul Oakenfold handpicked D-Fuse to be his exclusive opening DJ on all of Oakenfold’s North American tour dates.
