Cursed Treat Final Album to Vinyl Reissue, Tease Upcoming Box Set

The grim and furious sounds of long-gone Toronto hardcore crew Cursed's farewell album are coming back to vinyl this summer. You can wake up your neighbours when a new pressing of the group's III: Architects of Troubled Sleep arrives July 22 through Deathwish Inc.

A press release from the imprint confirms that the album has been tweaked up a bit since its initial release through the now-defunct Goodfellow imprint in 2008. The new vinyl release was pressed up using brand new plates, which make it sound "better than ever."

The record will sit in a gatefold sleeve that features updated artwork from Baroness's John Baizley. The image, which you can see above, is more detailed than the original illustration. A silver vinyl version is being served up in a run of 2,000 copies, while more limited-edition pressings will appear on "clear with silver spatter" and "white/black mix."

You can pre-order all three versions over here.

This is the third Cursed album to be repressed by Deathwish Inc., with updated versions of 2003's One and 2005's Two having arrived in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Deathwish Inc. also has plans to deliver a box set release of all three records, which will be a joint release with vocalist Chris Colohan's High Anxiety imprint.

Cursed comprised Colohan (the Swarm, Left for Dead, Ruination) and members of Ire and Black Hand. The band issued three full-length albums and a handful of singles before disbanding during a European tour after being robbed. Colohan would go on to form Burning Love.
