New York City post-punks cumgirl8 have detailed their first EP with 4AD. phantasea pharm will arrive on August 18, following the band's run of North American dates supporting Le Tigre.
The EP was born out of an obsession with Ella Fitzgerald's "Old McDonald," which resulted in the band playing a show in Charlottesville, VA, in erotic farm gear. "We went on stage that night and told everyone we were a 'Fantasy Farm,'" the band said via press release. After the show, the concept for phantasea pharm was cemented.
Alongside the EP's announcement, cumgirl8 have shared its second single, the dark yet beaming "gothgirl1." It follows recent Exclaim! Staff Pick "cicciolina."
