Crystal Castles Hint at New Album with Cryptic Trailer

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jun 30, 2016

Crystal Castles underwent a massive lineup change last year, replacing frontwoman Alice Glass with singer Edith Frances. The band previously hinted that a new album would be on the way in 2016, and now it seems as if the wheels have been set in motion to make that happen.

Earlier this week, a mysterious track titled "Concrete" appeared on Korean digital retail site MNet, and now the duo has unveiled a video titled "Femen," which we assume is a new track that will appear on the upcoming record.

The minute-and-a-half-long clip features imagery of birds tangled up in netting, backed by a snippet of new music. At the end of the clip, the screen simply reads: "August."

Though it has since been removed, an Amazon listing recently appeared for a new Crystal Castles album titled Amnesty. The release date was listed as August 19. When it finally does arrive, Crystal Castles' next album will mark the fourth from the band, but the first without Glass.

While we wait for official details about the new record to firm up, watch the teaser trailer below.
